They're coming to get you, Barbara! That is if Barbara was a deceptive Mr. Bloom who has betrayed his team and plans on continuing the Lazarus Resin research with Geri Powers and leaving Two-Face and Red Hood looking like straight-up terrorists. That being said, we don't have to worry about how everyone looks just yet, we have to save Red Hood from the Suicide Squad wherein our previous issue, KGBeast had Red Hood all tied up and ready to kill him. Thankfully, Harvey Dent showed up to save Jason's day with zombie versions of Bane and Mr. Freeze. Let's jump into this issue and see if this zombie experiment continues to be as entertaining as its been so far. Let's check it out.

In this issue not only does our team of Red Hood, Two-Face, Bane, and Mr. Freeze have to take out the KGBeast but they also have to take out the Batman who is still on his quest to shut whatever Task Force Z is down, even though Red Hood has told him that he wants to see this mission through, especially since it was Batman who put him up to it in the first place. At first, I was annoyed at this Red Hood/Batman confrontation because it's all we ever really seem to get from these two but in this issue, it is played out really well with not only how Jason feels about his lot in life, but also showing us that while Jason is on a team full of monsters, he wants the redemption that they want as well and his team is willing to do what they can to back him up. It's a really good moment in this book that is full of good moments because while we move the plot forward, we also get the background in how all of this started.

Previously we saw that on top of Two-Face's Task Force Z, we had another laboratory that was working on the Lazarus Resin that was being run by Geri Powers and in this issue, we see the beginnings of that part of our plot and how far Mr. Bloom will go to do....... whatever it is that he wants to do..... you see, while Bloom is constantly screwing people over and moving back and forth between labs that are working on the resin, I'm still not sure what his endgame is in all of this. What I am sure of is that things have really picked up in this issue and I can't wait to see where they go because while this is only the halfway point to our story, it feels like it's about to end and I need to know what happens next with six issues left to go.

All in all, the art in this issue is great throughout and the progression of our story, not to mention the comradery of our characters that are seeking redemption is awesome to see. Especially now that we're halfway through and it looks like the team that we have right now.... and possibly a reanimated KGBeast are a team on their own who need to take down Mr. Bloom before he does whatever nefarious thing he intends to do.... or maybe he's just a flip-flopper who like switching sides to keep things interesting... Who knows at this point, but like Mr. Bloom, Matthew Rosenberg continues to keep things interesting in this book and I can't wait to read more because the flashbacks to the past in this issue were entertaining as hell and I can only imagine that the future will be just as entertaining.

Bits and Pieces:

Task Force Z continues to be an entertaining read that somehow works way better than expected from the silliness of the title but in this issue, you'll get some background, a look at where we're heading, and some real heart from our characters, including Red Hood who are just striving for redemption, not to mention some really fun action scenes. The art looks great, the characters are written brilliantly and I can't wait to see what happens next.

8/10
